The business was set up with the lofty dreams of becoming one of the leading house-hold names in the agro-allied products processing sub-sector with the mandate of reaching 5 million house-holds in I year with value-added range of multiple agricultural semi-finished and processed flour products the sub-saharan Africa.

 

The products are registered with such relevant government agencies such as the Corporate Affairas Commision (CAC), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Federal Revenue Service (FRS), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), etc.

 

The targeted market for these products are the Upper and Middle class Nigerians and Africans both at home and in diaspora (US, UK, Canada etc) who desire high quality and easy to prepare processed agro-allied flour products, based on the statistics that the average national demand and consumption for these products stands at about 750 tons per day.

Background
NATO Resources West-Africa Limited, a company with an initial set-up capital of Two Million naira (N2, 000,000), has over the years grown in leaps and bounds. Especially given that it started production with just one product line item of stock keeping unit (SKU) but now has over twelve different varieties of brand offerings to its market. The company is set up in Lagos State, Nigeria. due to the large market and high demand for its products (yam (elubo isu) flour, plantain flour, beans flour, rice flour, poundo yam flour, wheat flour, semonato flour, sweet potato flour,  plantain chips. The company is supported by competent and skillful Management team and professionals. These operational areas of the company indicate that the benefits presented to the Nigerian and African population including those in diaspora (USA, Canada and UK) at the moment are enormous.
 
The idea of manufacturing these product in Lagos state as a take-off point, will provide a huge market (with an estimated population of over twenty million people) and job opportunities for the company’s host/ immediate environment. The factory will produce both 1kg, 5kg and 10kg variants of these flour products. In addition, the factory shall be able to produce other sizes of these products on requests from customers. The factory can be situated any part of the southern Nigeria with a planned initial take-off from Lagos state of Nigeria.
 


Projection
The demand for plantain flour, yam (elubo isu) flour, poundo yam flour, beans flour, rice flour, plantain chips, cassava flour is increasing day by day especially with the increasing reported cases of population explosion in Nigeria in general and Lagos state in particular, therefore, the degree of need, health considerations and rising standard of living contribute in no small measure to the increasing demand for these types of processed flours. With an estimated population of over 180 million people, the demand is 20% higher than the current supply.
 
These brands of flour products have been found to be healthy foods that are rich in high energy. The national demand is estimated to be more than 1,000,000 tonnes per annum. The flour factory has been designed to optimize the best treatment for a Grade (A) flour in Nigeria to compete with the industry leaders. The factory, in addition to using the standard equipment for the production of flour will also use the cabinet dryer which ensures the plantain dries well and thereby increases the shelf life, gives a great taste and quality it so deserve for competition in the market places.
 


Ownership
NATO is a registered limited liability company. The ownership is structured in such a way that the position of C.E.O is occupied by Prof..Gift OKORIE while the position of the Executive Director is occupied by Dr. (Mrs) Elizabeth Gift-OKORIE.
